I went to Valencia, the paella city. There, I burnt the broken pieces of the paella dish with the magical “ninots”, big puppets made of firecracker-filled cardboard and paper-mâché that are elaborated to represent a satirical jab at anything or anyone who draws the attention of the critical eyes of the valencian population.

Then, I shaped the metal with a pan mould and immersed it in another magical place called “The Albufera”, a freshwater lagoon on the Gulf of Valencia coast where the natural biodiversity of the nature reserve allows a great variety of fauna and flora to thrive and be observed year-round. The most important human use of this lagoon is fishing, but also the growing of rice.

Now, I could cook paella in my new recycled pan. It tasted delicious!!! However, the dessert was missing. I would like to take some chocolate in my new destination: Belgium. Will they be able to satisfy my wish?
