The Giant Ferris Wheel

The Ferris Wheel is located in the Viennese Prater and it is the town’s landmark. It was built in 1897 to celebrate the jubilee of Emperor Franz Joseph the First. Back then it was one of the biggest giant wheels in the world. The Giant Ferris Wheel has thirty gondolas. From above, you can look over the whole city.

 

The Grossglockner

The Grossglockner is the highest mountain of Austria. The mountain is 3798 meters high and it is a part of the Hohe Tauern. The summit of the mountain is located in Carinthia. The first ascent was in 1800. Today the Grossglockner is a popular hiking destination.

 

Kunsthaus Graz


The Kunsthaus Graz is a magical big building. They exhibit especially contemporary art of the last five decades. The Art Gallery was built in 2003 and since then it is the new landmark of the city.

 

Lake Neusiedl

Lake Neusiedl is located in Austria and Hungary. This lake is one of the few steppe lakes in Europe and one of the largest lakes in Austria. There are reeds halfway around the lake and the lake has just a shallow depth. At the deepest point it is only 1.8 meters deep. The Lake Neusiedl has a unique flora and fauna. Particularly interesting are the many migratory birds that spend the summer here. The lake freezes in winter and you can skate on it. Lake Neusiedl is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

The New Cathedral in Linz

The church has the highest tower among church towers in Austria. Its construction started in 1855. The cathedral is knows for its stained-glass windows.

A system of ice caves located near Saltzburg. There are lots of turists all the time.

Hallstatt

There, in a small village with a cementary from the iron age, there is a church with a lot of skulls.

There are over 10.000 animals on the area of 4.000m2 in Aqua Terra Zoo! There are piranhas, too!
