The Eiffel tower in Paris

The Eiffel tower was built from 1887 to 1889, today it's height is 324 meters.

It has been built by the french ingeneer Gustave Eiffel for the Universal Exhibition in 1889.

Since this date, more than 200 billions of visitors have visited this huge monument.

 

The Mont Blanc in the French Alps

It's the highest point of western Europe, it peaks at 4810 meters.

A very large tunel cross the Mont Blanc to link France and Italy.

 

The towers of La Rochelle

There are three towers in the port of La Rochelle.

The Saint Nicolas Tower (on the right of the photo), built from 1345 to 1376 ;

The Chain Tower (on the left of the photo), built from 1382 to 1390 ;

The Lantern Tower (see below), built from 1209.

The towers of La Rochelle are actually museums, they are the last parts of the town's fortifications.

Île de Ré

The Île de Ré is an island off the west coast of France near La Rochelle. The island highest point has an elevation of 20m. The island is 30km long and 5 km wide. A 2,9km bridge connects it to La Rochelle on the mainland. The island is surroundes with sandy beaches. The island is noted to have a constant light breeze, and the water temperature is generally cool.
